SNS ED. On Motzei Shabbos, Parshas Mishpatim, @ 8:15 pm sharp there will be a Yahrtzeit gathering in Crown Heights @ 750 Eastern Parkway.
There will be a Dvar Torah by Rabbi Levi Greisman and a talk, “Memories: by Mrs. Chaya Teldon - Friend, Shlucha, Commack L.I.
In the honor of the 20th Yahrtzeit of Mrs. Nechoma Greisman, one of the Rebbe’s first shluchos in Tzfat, the mother of 10 children, the source of inspiration for thousands of Jewish women, and the friend of many, the Nechoma Greisman Jewish Library for Women has been transferred to and reopened in North-Tel Aviv, within the premises of Pnimiyut Seminary, Ramat Aviv.
In 1976, the Rebbe appointed a group of shluchim to go to Eretz Yisroel and start building the Lubavitcher community Be’Eretz Hakodesh. Among the shluchim that settled in Tzfat in that year was the family Greisman.
Nechoma Greisman, using her extraordinary personality and skill to give and to educate, she achieved a beautiful life work: she supported her husband in writing the Sefer Torah for Children and in his other works; she herself wrote numerous publications on how to be a good Chassidic woman and how to make a family of peace and love; she became a well-known educator, a sought for family advisor; and she created a beautiful home and family. Besides these deeds, during her life-journey, she also assembled a collection of selected Chassidic and general Jewish literature.
After her sudden and unexpected passing on Chof Gimmel Shvat 5752, her library was opened in Kfar Chabad, where it was functional for several years as an English-language public Jewish library for women. In 2011, marking the 5th year of the English program of Pnimiyut Seminary in Ramat Aviv, the collection was transferred to North-Tel Aviv, and reopened to become the Nechoma Greisman Jewish Library for Women.
Today 35 seminary students use the library every day for their studies; several university students visit it to find sources for their researches; and a number of other parties borrow books from it on a regular basis to fulfill their personal learning objectives. This is a beautiful gift we received from Nechoma.
The library welcome every donation of books, Sichosin English, or financial contributions. For further info visit http://www.pnimiyut.com/library.html
